Network management & coordination


  1. Draft policy statements;
  2. Provide policy support for the advocacy campaigns, workshops and publications on relevant issues and of global importance;
  3. Provide policy formulation, oversight, advising, research writing and communications;
  4. Assist the Programme Manager in drafting policy briefs;
  5. Issue media releases in advocacy and campaign activities;
  6. Represent the Programme in behalf of or as instructed by the International Director, in policy arenas
  7. Assist Programme Manager in organizing advocacy and campaign events and activities;
  8. Ensure the production of publications and advocacy materials including primers, policy paper, position papers, statements, magazines, books, factsheets, reports, brochures, pamphlets, etc
  9. Assist in coordinating the Secretariat of CPDE
  10. Draft project proposals for the programme and the network;
  11. Perform other tasks assigned by the Programme Officer/Manager or the International Director.







Person specifications: experience, skills and knowledge

1) Essential experience:        

  • At least three years’ work experience on relevant and/or related field
  • Project management of programmes implemented in multiple countries, multi-donor funded and multi-agency implemented
  • Working with bilateral and multilateral donors
  • Working with diverse CSOs
  • Writing clear reports on complex projects
  • Work in a developing country and/or experience working with organisations from the Global South.

2) Desirable experience:

  • Making presentations to civil society organisations or decision-makers
  • Involvement in an international network
  • Involvement in an international campaign

3) Required aptitude, skills and knowledge:

  • Ability to manage multi-country, multi-donor and multi-agency project
  • Knowledge of the workings of bilateral and multi-lateral donors
  • Demonstrated management skill
  • Excellent inter-personal skills
  • Ability to work in a small team and to work collaboratively with non-government organisations worldwide
  • A very high standard of spoken and written English
  • Computer literate and familiar with Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook

  4) Desirable aptitude, skills and knowledge:

  • Understanding current debates on aid and development effectiveness policies

  5) Willingness to travel
