In view of indigenous peoples' concerns on aid and development effectiveness, several global groups are organizing the Indigenous Peoples' Workshop on Aid and Development Effectiveness to be held on June 12, 2013 at the Finmark University College in Alta, Norway.
On January 22, 2013, IBON International, WALHI, INDIES, PCFS and APRN are inviting peoples’ organizations, social movements and non-government organisations from across Indonesia to a workshop titled “Towards a Just and Transformative Post-2015 Development Agenda”
On January 25, around 62 participants from various civil society organizations and social movements from Latin America, Africa, Asia, Middle East and North Africa, and Europe participated in a self-organized side event in Porto Alegre entitled "Civil Society Workshop on Alternatives and Peoples Struggles for Sustainability".
The "Global Civil Society Workshop on the Rio+20 Zero Draft and Rights for Sustainability" was held at the Church Center for the United Nations in New York City last January 24. The workshop was attended by more than 70 participants from various civil society organizations (CSOs) and social movements from around the world. It was organized by IBON International in cooperation with Asia Pacific Research Network (APRN), People's Coalition for Food Sovereignty (PCFS) and Centre for Environment and Development (CED) with the support of Diakonia - Asia Regional office, Both ENDS and the World Council of Churches (WCC).
The People’s Coalition on Food Sovereignty (PCFS), in partnership with IBON International’s Reality of Aid Network (RoA), Better Aid and partner civil society organizations (CSOs), went full swing in the conduct of trainings on food sovereignty and consultations on aid effectiveness in Agriculture and Rural development (ARD) in Nepal, India and Uganda in September.
BetterAid together with IBON addressed the fast-unfolding issues of Rio+20 and Green growth and climate financing by conducting two engagement workshops at the recently-concluded Civicus World Assembly 2011.
