IBON Africa is organising the CSO Convergence on Carbon Trading titled, “Advancing Climate Justice amidst Carbon Trading in Africa.” This CSO Convergence on Carbon Trading will convene civil society organisations, communities’ representatives, and peoples’ movements to discuss the state of play of carbon trading in Africa, implications of carbon trading projects and other false solutions. The CSO Convergence will consist of several sessions including panel discussions and workshops that will unpack the overview of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, Scope of Climate Finance vs Carbon Finance and Rechanneling Climate Finance from False Solutions among others. Participants working on this area will also share their perspectives while frontline communities engaging in carbon trading will also have an opportunity to share their lived experiences.
