Programme Development and Fundraising Officer

Key responsibilities:

1. Lead in defining processes for development of IBON International programmes and projects.

2. Facilitate programme and project development activities. In close coordination with the PDF Team, s/he will provide support in the development of proposals and concept notes for projects and programs of the organisation based on the IBON International’s strategy.

3. Support in keeping a list of existing and potential donors – their priorities and funding cycles and share with concerned staff. Regularly track relevant calls for proposals and coordinate with the PDF team to respond in a timely manner.

4. Develop and recommend a system to document programmes and projects developed. Relate regularly with the PDF team and concerned staff to document and capture the learning process and application of adaptive management.

5. Advise Executive Director on programme/project development and funding needs and track funding gap

6. Seek and review potential funding opportunities through donor mapping exercises and make recommendations to the team. Keep up-to-date of new and emerging developments that may affect the organisation’s program development and fundraising activities.

7. Support in retaining an updated record of existing programs and projects. Coordinate compliance with donor requirements, including the timeliness and quality of narrative and financial reports, claims, approval of revisions, procurement and audit rules.

8. Set-up project management systems that respond to staff capacities, programme requirements and donor rules.

9. Provide mentoring and coaching to programme staff on programme development, fundraising and management.

10. In agreement with partners and programme staff, assess existing partner capacities and systems to manage and implement institutionally funded programmes and, jointly develop programme and project funding proposals. Work with partners to regularly assess the quality of the relationship, ensuring that effective communication channels are in place, and that funding-related issues are timely addressed

11. Perform any other task assigned by the Executive Director that will further the position objective.

Person specifications (Experience, skills and knowledge)

-Experience in fund raising work in NGO setting.

-Knowledge of international environment for grants and funding for civil society and NGOs.
