People-powered sustainable consumption: A visioning & mapping study
Today’s dominant economic model remains to be characterised by unbridled resource extraction and production of corporate giants, the historical reliance on emission-heavy fossil fuels, and wastage. This unsustainable status quo is an important starting point of this volume. This book aims to begin our work on SCP, establishing country-level evidence of how the states and people’s organisations in Kenya, Indonesia and the Philippines have responded to the call for sustainability. The book discusses both responses and issues at the level of policy rhetoric and implementation, as sustainability in the world’s production and consumption of goods and services continue to present important stakes for people's rights in the global South.
