IBON International welcomed Krister Holm as the new member of its Board of Trustees on 3 August 2022. Holm is a veteran development worker who has worked on people’s issues, such as trade, climate, and peace, in the global South.

He is currently the Deputy Director of CONCORD Sweden, a platform of Swedish civil society organisations working to influence European and Swedish development policy for a just and sustainable world.

“I am honoured to join IBON International’s Board of Trustees. I look forward to working with the organisation in advancing people’s rights, and supporting their capacities to shape their own development paths,” Holm said. 

Holm has previously worked with IBON International tackling policy and advocacy on aid effectiveness as the Programme Manager of BetterAid, a precursor of the CSO Partnership for Development Effectiveness. He is also among the founding members of IBON International Foundation.

In his various capacities, Holm has strived to extend his solidarity with social movements for rights and democracy. He served at the Board of the Swedish-Philippine Association at the height of the Filipino people’s resistance against the Marcos dictatorship in the 1980s. #
