In a patriarchal world run by greed, women wrestle every day. They wrestle for land, livelihoods, decent wages and working conditions, social services, their rightful place in conversations where crucial decisions are made, protection from violence, and just peace.

IBON International’s white paper, “Advancing Women’s Rights and People-Powered Democracy” provides an analysis on women’s systemic oppression in the global South and ways forward on advancing their full economic and political participation and leadership by building a democracy based on people’s rights and sovereignty.

The online event aims to introduce our framework of analysis to people’s movements and civil society organisations. Women leaders and organisations will share their experiences in wrestling against corporate and elite power, as well as their insights on how to wrest back power over economic and political life.
